Energetic Systems was founded in July of 1989 as a consultancy in the
computer systems field. Clients tend to be Silicon Valley high
technology firms, but the company also serves small businesses needing
computer assistance.
Michael S. Maiten, the owner of Energetic Systems, has had over
twenty one years experience in the Software Engineering Field since
graduating from UCLA's Engineering School. He is the principal
consultant in the firm, assisted as required by associates skilled in
specific areas.
From 1986 through July 1989, he was employed at Silvar-Lisco where he
was responsible for the management of all standard Engineering
projects. This included schedules, architecture, specifications,
software development and documentation for CAE products on six
different platforms, spanning all groups within the Engineering, QA,
and Distribution departments.
From 1981-1986, he was employed at Sytek (now Hughes LAN Systems)
working on X.25 and local area network software. Responsibilities
included management of software teams, inter-department coordination,
project management, estimation and management of contract costs and
profits, negotiation of contracts and specifications, as well as
technical contributions in computer network and system software
design. He was the Manager of the software team which released and
maintained the Sytek/IBM PC Network, and author of the Session
Management Protocol (SMP/NETBIOS) implementation.
Prior to 1981, he was employed as a Software and Hardware Design
Engineer in various research and development roles. Work included
database applications, electronic mail, monitor and control systems
for accelerators, video controller firmware, and hardware design.
